WRIST FIXATION
SYSTEM
|
|
|
VOLAR BEARING PLATE
A COMPONENT OF THE WRIST FIXATION SYSTEM
|
|
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES:
|
-
Bearing hole allows surgeon to vary the angle of the screw to best position for patient anatomy and fracture. Variable angled screws allows surgeon to place the plate in the optimal position
-
By inserting a 1,1mm K-wire into a distal pin hole subchondral position of the pegs can be confirmed using a 10 deg lateral image.
-
Peg positioning in distal bearing holes:
+ Can be achieved by with Peg Guide or Quick Quick Guide
+ Aim either guide to desired position and confirm trajectory using C-arm
+ Drill, measure peg depth and insert threaded or unthreaded peg
-
To fine tune the reduction using the pegs
+ Into a distal hole, thread a peg 1-2 turns, correct residual angulation by manual manipulation of the distal fragment
+ When angulation is restored, simply tighten the pegs until
fully seated and locked in the bearing holes
-
Complete fixation with additional screws. Confirm that all screws and pegs are fully seated prior to closing the incision
-
Plate may be bent and will not affect the ability to place pegs in the bearing holes

FIXED ANGLE
A COMPONENT OF THE WRIST FIXATION SYSTEM
|
|
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES:
|
-
Screws angled and locked in optimal direction to give subchondral support
-
Easy and fast method to insert distal pegs
+ Snap the Quick Guide into distal holes
+ Drill a peg holes using the 1.75mm drill bit and measure peg depth with the guide
+ Remove the guide and insert a threaded or smooth distal peg
-
Complete fixation with additional screws proximally and pegs distally
-
Confirm that all screws are fully seated prior to closing the incision
