The anchoring device could solve problems of internal fixation in elderly patients where the use of locking screws is not enough to obtain stablity. The anchoring plate provides a platform of support for the humeral head. Anatomical reduction of the humeral head on the diaphysis facilitates anatomical reduction of the tuberosities. Because of attachment to bone, better results of union of the tuberosities is obtained.
This option adds to the reconstruction possibilities the Humelock fracture system offers.
