Volar Distal Radius Plate Variable Angle

The Volar Bearing plate is part of the Total Wrist Fixation System from TriMed.  This system also includes the unique fragment specific options, wedge screws as well as a volar fixed angle plate.

The variable angle screws gives the surgeon the flexibility to place distal screws within a wide range of insertion angles and then lock each peg into the desired position. The gives the possibility to get fixation matched to the specific anatomy and with a technique that is easier.  A distal screw can be inserted but not locked before reduction of volar tilt is obtained.  The fracture can be manually reduced and the screw locked into position.

The unique wedge screws are available in 4 and 6mm and they provide set volar angulation depending on which proximal screw hole is utilized.

Features:

  • Material is Stainless Steel, offering great strength
  • Variable angled distal screws for flexibility
  • Bearing allows for fine tuning the reduction
    • Into a central distal bearing hole, thread a peg1–2 turns, but do not tighten. Repeat with asecond peg into an adjacent hole.
    • With the pegs not fully seated, correct residualangulation by manual manipulation of thedistal fragment.
    • When angulation is restored, simply tighten the screws into the bearing holes until each screw is fully seated and locked.
  • Plate can be contoured with bending tools without affecting the trajectory of the screws as would be in a fixed angle plate
