The MMsled is one of the many unique components of the complete TriMed Ankle System. Included in the system are standard plates, cannulated screws, syndosmosis screws, Sidewinder and hook plate.
The MMsled controls and anchors distal fragments for horizontal or vertical medial malleolar fractures. It is a one piece tension band tha links interosseous and exosseous fixation with dynamic compression.
Combines mechanics of double intramedullary pins (.078”) with –
- Extra-osseous buttress
- Single composite structure – very stiff in bending, torsion, tensile loading
- Ultra-low profile
Medial malleolar sled 27% stiffer in shear than two 4.5 malleolar screws.
