Kurz Tympanoplasty

The range of Kurz tympanoplasty prostheses enables partial and total ossicular reconstructions; and the line offers prostheses in fixed and adjustable lengths.  The patented adjustable TTP VARIAC system provide the surgeon with the shortest length of adjustable partial prosthesis on the market, namely 0.75mm in functional length.

TTP VARIAC

This patented system is a combination of a TTP-VARIO prosthesis and a multifunctional, disposable AC Disk.  The length is easilty modified intraoperatively to required lengths, by cutting and the prosthesis can be shortened by increments of 0.25mm.  One partial and one total prosthesis is all the is required to provide a full range of lenghs

Omega connector

One of the major success factors of total ossicular reconstruction is to ensure a centralization of the prosthesis and minimize the risk of dislocation of the total prosthesis.  given the appropriate spacial conditions in the oval niche the Omega connector gives the solution.  It is connected to the prosthesis shaft with a micro ball-joint, no crimping instruments are needed.  The ball joint allows positioning in all angles and may overcome varying spatial alignments of the footplate and tympanic membrane or malleus.  The product is kept in place by pure fluid adhesion force.  It gives an additional 0.5mm in functional height which must be deducted from the length of the total prosthesis.
