Provox HME is based on a simple
mechanism that is documented as safe and hygienic. The
cassette heats and moisturizes inhaled air and restores
breathing resistance to a great extent.

A. Provox HME Cassette:

Has multiple functions:

as a heat and moisture
exchanger

facilitates manual stoma
occlusion with the help of a simple lid/spring-valve
mechanism, thereby improving speech as well as hygiene

unique side openings that
enable airtight closure of the stoma even when HME is
covered, which means:
Available in two versions:

Normal, intended for all day
use
-
HiFlow, for lower airflow
resistance, e.g. for physical activity, or when adapting to
ones first HME
An HME is most effective when
worn day and night. Usually takes some weeks until the
pulmanory symptoms improve. May be increased mucus
production in first days of use.

B. Provox Adhesive:

They are designed to hold Provox
HME Cassettes, FreeHands and ShowerAid in front of the
tracheostoma.
There are 3 different glue types
and 2 different shapes (oval and round)

Flexiderm - strong flexible
adhesive (mean durability: 2 days)

Optiderm - for sensitive skin
(mean durability: 2 days)

Regular - standard adhesive,
easy to remove (mean durability: 1 day)

C. Provox StomaVent:

It is an adhesive base plate
with an integrated, non-replaceable HME unit. Available in
